Sessel takes a lot of inspiration from uplifting trance. The song’s strength is in the foundation - the moving piano strokes with the simple, yet strong chord progression allows a nice, smooth flow into a relaxed break in the middle of the song, followed by a build-up into a more elated and aggressive (and perhaps a bit more cookie-cutter) peak at the end.
The song name and overall vibe was inspired by the video game Cube World, where procedurally generated regions of voxel-like terrain are illuminated with beautiful visuals at twilight - one of those regions was named Sessel. An unreleased (currently) song takes its namesake from Terodara, another procedurally generated region.
